How to Celebrate Mabon: Wheel of the year guide to Mabon

Updated: Nov 12, 2022

In the fall, the Wheel of the Year brings us to Mabon. This sabbat celebrates the autumn equinox, a time when the sun sits directly over the equator so that day and night are of equal length. Mabon is a harvest festival and celebrates balance, harmony, abundance, bounty, and gratitude. It is also a transitional time of year, because after the autumn equinox the days begin to grow shorter as the nights grow longer. As we enter into the darker, colder, wintry season Mabon reminds us to be thankful for the abundance we have and to reflect on that which we no longer need.
